245 Timing Belt Changed today - having a stumbling problem 200 1986

I changed the timing belt in my 86 245 with B230F today - not too bad of a job. I turned the motor to TDC according to the mark on the pulley and the mark on the timing cover for 0 degrees TDC. The marks for the camshaft lined up, but the mark on the old belt was one tooth off for the distributor shaft. I removed the old belt, moving the distributor shaft one tooth and installed the new belt. The car would start, but wouldn't stay running. I loosened the distributor bolt and the distributor would not turn (hadn't been turned in a long time - was frozen). I took a long stick and knocked it around a little and the car started and run. I put a timing light to the engine and finally got it to the first mark on the timing escutcheon, which I am assuming is 10 degrees BTDC. I runs good, but it is sluggish when I drive it. Any good ideas for a timing belt neophyte. Another thing I noticed, it advanced good when I blipped the throttle, but I noticed at idle the timing wanders around a bit. Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks,
Lance
