Cutting out badly at WOT.....MAF problem!! 700 1988

All vacuum hoses and air filter are brand new, the hoses for the turbo plumbing are not, but have no cracks whatsoever. My problem was the MAF, I replaced it with a junkyard unit I picked up at a pull a part for $10. No more problems, only happended when the old MAF was plugged in, would have just ran with no MAF, but figured this would hurt performance worst as the ECM wouldn't adjust accordingly for the air intake charge/flow. Thanks for all the replies.
