Wiring Harness Dilemma 200 1981

'81 Turbo. So I put my wiring harness (a Dave Barton Special) in today and I seem to have a sensor missing! Position number 4 on the grey rectangular connector, left firewall behind the intake manifold, is a gray wire that is supposed to go to a block temp sender somewhere near cylinder #4. The thing is, my car doesn't have this sensor. The connector at the firewall that the harness connects to is blank in that space and my old harness does not have that wire. All the other wires match up. The car ran fine without it, which is surprising as the old harness was trashed, so I'm not too worried about it, but I do wonder what this sensor is supposed to do.

Man, those clamps that hold the part of the harness that runs under the engine to the oil pressure sender and alternator were a real mofo to get back in...
