Problem: B230F dies when throttle is pressed 200 1989

240 DL sedan 1989 (LH Jetronic 2.2 I think...)
150k miles, nice condition
auto tranny

The car has been running REALLY WELL for a while now, I do 1000 kilometers per week. No startup issues, no idle issues, very smooth engine.

Last night I went to start the car (it was warm), it started and idled "roughly" around 500 rpm... When I put it in drive it stalled. I repeated and it did the same. I start it and step in the throttle and it stalled again. On and off, it actually would not hold an idle at all.

I unplugged the AMM connector and the car idled higher, around 900, stepped on throttle and hesitated, almost stalled, but revs fine above 1500 RPM or so. Difficult to hold RPM between 700 and 1500. I revved it at 2500, held it for a minute. Smelled gas. I shut it off, replugged the AMM.

I started it up, it held idle at around 700 RPM, but really rough. Of course check engine light on due to unplugged AMM, and of course code 1-2-1 (AMM). Drivability really difficult, especially RPM between 700 and 1500 the car still wants to stall. Smells gas.

This morning (car cold) I tried starting it (with AMM plugged in) and it would not hold idle at all. Would fireup right away, and then stall after 2 seconds. This was very consistent. I unplugged the AMM and the car started and held rough idle at around 700 RPM. Pressed on throttle and it stalled right away. Repeat, I was eventually able to bring the RPM up but it REALLY wants to stall between 700 and 1500 RPM again. (AMM still unplugged).

Please help! I borrowed my wife's 940 B234F to come to work!
Any reasons why this would not be the AMM? Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
