I had to re-install the rear amp on my 780 after PO had removed it. I’m not sure what you mean by “clips” but I would check the DIN connections in the trunk and behind the radio and equalizer. (You need to remove them both to access your OD relay anyway) While in there, pull & re-solder the OD and the fuel pump relay. See FAQ for location and instructions.
Check fuses on back of amp in trunk also. Front amp is above your left knee and I would check those connections as well.
I have Volvo wire diagram for 1990 780 radio if you want a scanned image let me know.
