What's the pre-pump setup comprise? 140-160 1974

These cars don't need one. The fuel pump is very close to the tank thus not needing the prepump setup. When I had bucking problems in my 74 142E with K-jet
it drove me crazy until I talked to an old time Volvo mechanic. Seems in the
interest of clean fuel Volvo installed a sock filter on the outlet pipe for
the pump. This sock clogs up and causes bucking and fuel problems and will drive
you crazy, too. You can remove the plug in the bottom of the tank and pull
the sock out of it. The plug uses a square drive if I remember correctly. It's
usually pretty tight and it's brass so be careful when removing and installing
it. Wish you well, hope it helps.
