Prepping M46 for swap 200 1983

You picked the one year that doesn't have a speedo drive. You'll have to add
a speedo drive to the o/d or install one that has it. The 86 model year is
the first for the electronic speedo. Thus there isn't anything to connect to
on the o/d unit. The o/d is just bolted on. You could bolt on another one.
That would give you the opportunity to change the seals and stuff in the o/d, giving the o/d a chance at longer life. I've never had a Volvo trans with a
leaky front seal. It can happen but I've never seen one. Be sure to get all
the wiring for the o/d relay and the reverse lights. I recommend a new mount
and this is also the time to change or replace the driveshaft support
and bearing, along with any ujoints that need attention. Wish you well. A
much nicer car with a manual trans.
