Wipers shut car down 200 1990

While the damp and the corroded terminal might be responsible for the inoperative wipers at mid-day, I don't think they're the cause of the engine dying. That's more likely a result of too-low idle, combined with the extra alternator drag from wipers and lights (rainy day...lights on?) all conspiring as you slowed down to draw the engine speed down just a bit too low for the "oops, rpms are too low, must add a little gas" function of the FI to catch it.

That it cranked correctly shows that the battery and alternator seem to be working. That it
*started* shows that the rest of the ignition system is OK.
