Feel free to say I told you so... 700

I was the newbie asking for feedback on the 88 760T on the 19th of April. Well, like the impulsive sunuvagun I can be, longing to reclaim that 1st car feeling, I bought it. Well, wouldn't you know it; a week and a half later, the engine throws a rod!!! The seller of this Volvo was a good guy and had detailed service records on it and everything. No one saw this coming. Even a ASE tech who has worked on Volvos for 20 years says that it was a fluke thing because there was NO forshadowing of this at all.

Anyways!! I am looking at 2500.00 for a rebuilt engine (less than 70k on it) and a new turbo. While this is depressing as heck, I hope that this is the only major repair/replacement I will have to do. The transmission checks out a-ok per the shop, so with the newer engine and turbo I am hoping for smooth sailing from here on out.

I was warned about the AC, but it works like a champ. It doesn't seem to work as well sitting in traffic, in 90 degree heat, but when moving it's as cols as the Northeast. =) All the power options work just fine, so I'm hoping this is the last chunk of change I'll be spending on this car.

I still love my brick though!!!
