I don't know much about your model but I believe that if the fuel pump were
not working more or less as planned it would not run at all.
BTW there is so much difference in different models of the 240/260, you
would do yourself and potential responders a favor by NOT posting the year
model as "ALL". Some of us are getting old and can't remember what year
yours is.
