FI relays on 740 turbo 700 1990

When my dad's 1990 744T died this morning, I found crack in what I think is the 'radio suppression relay' for the FI system. When I resoldered it, it cranked fine. This relay was on the driver's side around the power steering reservoir. However, there's another identical relay hooked on the radiator overflow bottle. On my non-turbo 1989 B230F, I have only one such relay--and it's on the overflow bottle.

Does anyone know why there are two relays on the turbo and only one on the NA? Should I replace both relays on his car as a matter of preventative maintenance?

thanks for your help

Dave
