Timing 87 Volvo 240

I just replaced the timing belt, tensioner and crank pulley. The car *seems* to be sluggish on acceleration, but, as I ahvent driven the car in weeks, Im thinking the is just the old girl I've forgotten.

My question is this:

If I was even slightly off on the placement of the sprockets, how would it present? Would it be pinging, etc? Or would it be slight?

Should I recheck the timing with a gun, and make small adjustments if necessary?

Thanks all!!

Curt
