Do the Front Bumper Shocks just rest in the holding tubes? 700

Eventually I am going to be putting my front bumpoer back together. Once I put new bumper shocks on the bumper and re attach the bumber cover is that it? Is there anything that holds the shocks in the holes they insert into besides the force of the bumper cover hoding it on? There does not appear to be anything else that holds it on. Should there be? I am just worried about it falling off again

Any hints are appreciated.
