How can I estimate production numbers for a particular model?

I have seen overall production numbers for a general model year by year (so many 240's, this many 740's, etc) but I have not seen any breakout (GL, GLE, turbo, wagons, manuals, automatics, etc). Is there any way I can find out how many, for instance, 1991 745 turbos with manual tranny were produced in the various countries?

This question came to mind because I have a fairly rare car, a 1990 745 GLE 16 valve stick shift. I estimated about 50 to 100 made worldwide based on about 70,000 745's built in 1990, about 2% being manuals and I am guessing that the 16 valve engine accounted for no more than 1 in 25 cars sold in that year. Yet there is another like it, except it is a 1989 model, at the place I work. Weird, but just because it is a coincidence doesn't mean it can't happen, I suppose. :-)
