looking for conversion suggestions 700 1990

The B230FT is not an easy install as the battery and air box are reversed and so the harness is mirrored. You would need a new harness and that is major work. You can fit a B234F head on any red block so in theory at least, you should then be able to fit a B230F head on a B234F block, but whether that would work in practice, I have no idea. What you need to do is to get a decent 740 with the B230F engine and mount that, that will be fairly straightforward; or of course live with the B234F, which is a fine engine too although I understand you if you've had so manhy problems. The oil pump issue is not a problem as that is all internal.
