Rear caliper size, does it matter if I am going to change both sides anyway,38x2 or40x2? 700 1990

John Sargent post a beautiful picture 2 wks ago, regarding how to read to caliper size.It was very clear on his new caliper.Right in the middle 'speech balloon" above the ATE italics. However,on my rusted 13 yrs caliper,I cant see a number there. But in the more distant balloon further from the ATE there may be a 6.
Below the 6 there is a G.
Below the ATe there is some I6 marking too.
According to Worldpac,36 is no longer available.
Can one buy a pair of brand new ATE calipers(not rebuilt) either 38 or 40mm.for the same rear disc size.
These new Ate calipers are available online for 90$ each vs rebuilt at 50$
Thanks
Tom
