Ah, good; this makes more sense. Trouble with email/web is that it's hard to guess the tone of the others' voice. So with the 'geez'es and the caps and such I guess I read something into your post that wasn't there. Sorry about that.

Yipe. Maybe I am touchy! Ugh.

I'm with you - and Ron, and Phil - if the alternator alternates, well that's good enough.

A friend came over two evenings ago with a newly acquired 122 wagon that's fitted with a Delco - working well, except that his amp light doesn't work.
