AC switch 200 1990

my 1990's AC system just got rebuilt and now im having problems with the switch taht turns it on in the car. is it as simple as getting another switch from a junk yard and plugging in the wires, or is there some kind of tensioner mechanism that needs to be messed with? help! its summer in daytona and i NEED AC!!!
