Paging A/C electronics Gurus 700

Atop the 760 dash, above the left side of the glove compartment, there is an approximately one inch square plastic grille with a less than centimeter square opening behind which sits an sensor that regulates the fan speed for the automatic climate control when set to the middle (auto) position. That sensor reads cabin temperature. I need to know the specifications, part number or characteristics of that sensor (resistor?) so I can replace it. I guess it is a common and inexpensive part at electronics supply stores, but I need the specs. Thank you and best regards to all.
