Ebey Transmission ?? 200

Yes, I posted a message regarding purchasing a transmission for my 86 Volvo from a guy off of ebey. He was suppose to deliver it to me, but after reading the postings from this board it opened my eyes. Ok, this guy wanted to sell a transmission for $250.00/deliver. I asked him about the torque converter and he didn't know if it had one. He said he would have to call me back upon talking to his mechanic. I asked him if he could give me a guarantee for 30-90 days and he said, "yes, 30 days". Another alternative I have is to buy a tranny from a volvo salvage company that constantly deals with my mechanic for 350.00 with a written 90-day guarantee. After reading your postings, I'm sort of leiry about dealing with the ebey person and has decided to go with the salvage yard. I don't want to take a chance and throw 250.00 away and be back to square one. Thank you for your help.
