Wagon will not start when hot 200

My 85 245Ti left me stranded on the way home from work. About a mile
from the house it just went dead no warning, nothing. After being
towed and engine cooled a little it started and ran till it got
hot and cut off. Checked fuses and connections, ok. Started again but when I touched coil wire it died. Puled a plug and checked for spark, none.
The coil seemed a little warm, is it a safe bet the coil is bad? Any
suggestions, thanks in advance.
