Help I'm stuck - bad AMM?> 900 1993

I hope the board can help me on this one. It is Sunday and I'm stuck with my 1993 940 turbo. The car is stumbling and stalling. I'm getting code 1-2-1 from the diag. computer - signal from/to air mass meter faulty or absent. When I get the car to run with the AMM disconnected it will idle at about 850 rpm if I give it gas it will stumble/stall. With the AMM connected it will idle at about 1100 rpm and will stumble and stall under power. Before I have a new AMM overnighted to me, any other ideas about possible causes?

Thanks.
