Door alignment questions 200

Hi
To top all of the other problems my car is having now my driver side door doesn't line up correctly. The door hangs lower than the latch thing. When I close the door the door rams into the latch and gets driven up. This has slowly worn away the metal on the latch. Now when i take turns the door opens and thats pretty scary. I was wondering what I could do to get this door aligned. I think the car was in a accident and the door was replaced, but it was never aligned correctly. I need a way to move the door up a little. Thanks
