Differential work CAUTIONS??? 900

I just purchased a rear differential seal for my 91 940 turbo. I have a good shop I buy the parts from. The tech there told me to be very careful when tightening the yoke bolt to the differential. He cautions pulling the guts away from their many years of happy living in the same place. He suggested counting threads and marking the nut and yoke. I have a 4X4 jeep with lift kit and all the workings I have done myself, but have never needed to mess with the diffs. I'm aware of marking all part to go back as they were. Just do not want to have to rebuild the whole differntial due to a simple mistake. Any incite welcome.
