Transmission Flush? S90-V90 1998

When I taked to my service advisor to flush the transmission of my S90 with 82,000 mi he advised me not because of the age and mileage of the car and particularly if the transmission has not been serviced before. Instead he recommeded just to drain and refill with gasket and plug changed. Any idea transmission fluid would possibly cause leaks or more harm to the transmission. I bought mine at 81,000 mi and hesitate to fill it with Mobil 1 given the high mileage. Should this be the concern? I used Mobil 1 in all my 3 Volvos before but they were all bought new. Any input is appreciated.
