My Earl Scheib Experience ... 700 1987

The cracks in the hood are, acid cracks this happens at time of manufacturing after the metal is stamped before painting the parts where diped or sprayed with a very acustic acid to prep for painting. Threw time the acid is traped and shrinks the primer/paint (chemical reaction) wich is why the paint cracks.
Most common in 80s fords. To fix this the car needs to be sanded to bare metal, sand blasted and re-dip/sprayed with a less acustic acid,to newtralize the first app.of acid. We call it (chicken scratch)
Simply sanding it down wont help as the chem.acid is still present it will re-crack in time, your bertone has a slight problem with this but not bad.
