Question: Doing cam gasket and seal 200 1989

240 DL sedan B230F '89

I was doing the cam cover gasket and rear seal this morning...

I am planning on putting a bit of gasket sealer on both sodes of the gasket for sealing...

1.. How long should I wait for this to dry before driving the car?

2.. Torque the nuts?

3.. I popped out the rear seal and noticed it is hard as a rock... I though this was upposed to be hard rubber. I guess it is aged. Should I bother getting a new one, or just re-use the existing one with gasket sealer? I need to get a lift to the dealer to pick one up...

Thanks in advace,
