Stalling on startup 200 1989

Luke, I didn't know you were getting the Check Engine light along with the rough idle.

The maintenance steps you performed (cleaning the Flame Trap, Throttle Body, IAC) are still VITAL steps. These items must be working properly before you can move onto something else. But if the Check Engine light is on, that could make it EAISER to diagnose now!

Pull the error codes to see what the computer says is wrong now. Since you know for a fact that the basics are covered, you can zero in on the last domino... my guess would be either the O2 Sensor or the Engine Temp Sensor. But check the error code FIRST, before replacing either one. (You can also use a multimeter to check the O2 sensor. The FAQ has more details.)
