True. They are generally sold and stocked as a single piece, but the pressed in lug bolt shanks is the only thing holding them together.

Leonard (can't recall his last name - owns a neat blue 444) found a way to put discs on the rear of his 444 by separating the drum from the 444 rear hub, and putting on a 122 disc, also separated from the normal hub. Add a little creativity in fabricating a caliper mount, and F/R proportioning valve and voila'
