Starter Gremlins 140-160 1972

('72 142, B20, M41)Lately my starter, replaced a year ago, does not stop turning if I turn the key out of the start position. When the car does start I can't hear the starter still engaged and when I shut the motor off its not going any more. The only way to stop it if the car doesn't start is to disconnect the battery (not a big deal since I have a battery switch, but not cool all the same). So what's my problem? Ignition switch contacts sticking? Bad ground somewhere? Bad starter? Somthing else altogether? Any ideas are much appreciated.

BTW - My 142 has one of John Parker's supercharger kits on it.
