Cruise inop... odometer too 200 1990

Wife and I have acquired a beautiful red 1990 240 DL. A number of little things wrong with it, but slowly getting each of them fixed. Will have pictures soon.

Latest problem(s)... the odometer doesn't work. At first, thought it might be the internal gear, so I delicately disassembled housing only to find nothing broken or out of place. I could manually turn the odometer but when I put everything back together, it still did not work. Oh well, no bother, the speedometer still works. But my wife is driving 1500 miles back home to Montana in a month and she would like to have the cruise control fixed. So far, I have checked all the fuzes and vacuum lines in the engine compartment, I have also checked the brake pedal... everything is good, at least it looks good.

Do not know what else to do. Could these two problems be related and could anyone offer any bits of wisdom on tackling these problems?

Matt
