Hesitation/stumbling 200 1990

Happy Thursday Brickboarders!

Could use any advise/help solving my stumbling upon acceleration problem with my 1990 244. I have already read through the 700/900 FAQ.

Here is the story. Car was tuned about 15k ago. New plugs, cap, rotor and air filter. Recently it started stumbling upon acceleration. Starts, idles and cruises on level ground just fine. I have changed the wires and the fuel pressure regulator - NG (car needed them anyway). Also checked the grounds and searched for vacuum leaks without success...Cleaned bellows, airbox, vacuum hoses etc. The fuel pumps seem to be fine too.

My plan is to change the fuel filter next weekend. I also plan on pulling the knock sensor and checking that.

Would a clogged fuel filter cause the consistent type of stumbling I'm getting? Is there something I'm overlooking?

Thanks to all,

Jim 90 244DL 217K
