I do appreciate your input there... definitely gives me a better idea as to what I'm up against... I do understand fully that the body is totally different... But, what perhaps you don't understand is that this 122 automatic is a parts car... and a parts car it will remain. But I like to keep my parts cars moving under their own power...

I'd jsut like to drive it a little bit (off road entirely) for a while until I need the parts off it. I'm aiming to take it all the way probably, and I don't give a hoot what happens thereafter. I'll probably weld the spider gears and all... I'm NOT putting any money into it... perhaps I'll invest in a couple cases of beer... thats about all. I have no problem with bending/beating/cutting metal...

I already have a good wagon taht I bought a couple months ago... its got the M41 and runs good. I don't need another good one. I bought the parts car for the rear end... as it turns out, I got a rear end elsewhere before I got the parts car, so I dont' need the parts from it yet. I also bought the thing for the headrest seats and dual circuit brakes.... it's a '68. So I'll jsut swap bits and try to keep both on the road.

I want to turn it into something that'll get me around my mountain golf course to pick up sticks and rocks and beer bottles and keep things clean. Would feel wrong to do so in anything but a Volvo...and a 122 pickup truck would be just perfect :-) If it comes out OK, maybe I'll even register it. If not, no big deal... I won't waste any good parts in my efforts.

Time to invest in or borrow a oxy/acetylene outfit... I'll keep the BB updated...
