Any Hints for Success R&Ring the ECT sensor? 200

Thanks Joe! I will give it a shot. I was looking at it this afternoon and think you're right. If I move a few things around, I should be able to do it without losing a knuckle. I went by the local auto parts store and they want $55 for the ECT! I think IPD or Groton had it much cheaper.

Pete, It is entirely possible that my high idle and eng light problem is the ECU. I am hoping not as it is the most expensive part of the group of potential problems. My plan of attack was to go the easy, most least expensive route first and hope to get it fixed somewhere along the way. You mentioned that the ECU will also give codes. I did not know that. I will get out my Haynes manual and dig in and investigate that as well. I know the code box up under my hood on the driver's side is not reliable and hasn't been for about two years. I will also test the old ECT before I buy one needlessly. From what I've read here on the brickboard, after the ECT, the O2 sensor and AMM are next on my list of culprits. I am by no means a mechanic, but I have been learning quickly. Anyone else have any good ideas?

Luke
