240 tire size conversions 200

Hi,

I'm trying to get tires put onto my 93 240 Wagon, for which the OE tire size is the *quite* obscure 185R14. I'd like to put something more modern (and more available on), but i'm getting conflicting information about whether this is possible and/or a good idea. Any advice as to whether or not this can or should be done, and if so what size is appropriate would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
