Air Con Cooling Lost on Acceleration......Is This a Pressure Switch ?

Considering buying a 91 945 turbo. The owner has informed that at the moment air con is inopperative. Cooling effect is lost during acceleration or when demanding more power on hills. His local air con guy has informed him this is an $800/900 Aussie dollar repair. He was told this is a pressure switch prob.

The car was converted to 134a in 1999.

Your thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
