Air Con Cooling Lost on Acceleration......Is This a Pressure Switch ?

Tell him to run and hide from that repair shop. If the AC works on a 700/900 series car, except when under acceleration, the problem is a loss of engine vacuum to operate the vacuum servos. I have experienced exactly the same problem. The vacuum leak on my car was from the rubber cap which is supposed to seal the unused nipple on the vacuum reservoir. You friend's car may not have that vacuum leak, but it does have a vacuum leak somewhere.
