YAY! it runs! 12 volt toggle did what i thought any toggle would.
I agree that the causes need to be gotten into, but lack finaces/ energy/ sanity/ time to do so at the moment. it probably does have low compression if it has a small leak, i would not be surprised in the least (my compression tester has been AWOL for 3 years or so, found it the other day....havent tested yet.) According to the mechanic, my thermotime switch is fine, and the proper one for this climate/altitude (hot and dry and high)... its not firing because its not cold, which is appropriate, but the car needs the jolt to get it going...
But i can toggle it now! yay!!!
So the symptom is fixed, and hopefullfy i'll get to the reason soon. need a second car running to dig deep into the volvo, and the VW bus i bought needs work (for 900.00$, you get "issues" and i knew it when i bought it). my life and world doesnt work without a running car (disabled, cant walk to the bus even if the busses in this town went anywhere i need)...
Had an amusing conversation with a friend last night, about the fact that HE wouldnt have a clue about how to fix a car (pointed to the coil and said "distributer?") and sat and watched me (female) shred the car without blinking. i keep saying i need a t shirt that says "i'm turning into the man i used to want to marry" he says that if car repairs is the criteria for a man to marry, he is out of the picture... still prowling for a guy who wants to at least help with car repairs... (or do the housework, i dont care which, i just get tired of doing it all)...:)
delphine (in a weird mood, sorry)
YAY!!!
