o/d solenoid fine when cold-but will not engage when hot 200

My o/d has been giving me trouble for quite a while. It engages into O/D when the tranny is cool. But when the wagon gets warmed up, it will not engage. Sometimes it will rumble and studder trying to engage, but no-go.

Am I correct is thinking that th O/D operates fine when cold because the fluid in more viscous and the parts are cold and the seal tighter?
Is this correct?
If so could I try a more viscous fluid? Current I have type-f in the tranny?
Some posts mention using 30w oil in the tranny.

I checked out all the prior posts on the subject and followed the advice.
I double checked all the electric stuff- O.K.
Current at the solenoid when switched on. Shifter wires and such all OK too.

Based on posts I think it is the seals in the solenoid causing me trouble.

Is this possible? And would it help?
