Sticking ignition lock tumbler 200 1980

The ignition key keeps sticking (won't turn sometimes) also won't retract when the key is removed (causing the chime to stay on) I can get the lock to function properly for a day or two if I spray (non greasy) contact cleaner in the lock. The contact cleaner fix is getting really old!

Is there any way to remove the lock tumbler with out removing the entire housing that is attached to the steering column?

I have had the electrical switch in the back removed but could not find any access to the lock from that end.

Thanks,
