Front-end Squeaking on 1990 240 200

My black 1990 240 front end makes noises that I can only describe as like set of old bed springs -- noticeable obiviously as the suspension compresses and releases over bumps, but also to a certain degree while turning the wheel while the car is motionless. Mileage is 117K. I'm thinking the struts are the culprit, as the suspension feels pretty loosy-goosy overall, especially compared to my silver 1990 240 (146k) which has just had new struts installed -- and has never made sound from the suspension except for when the struts were obviously shot, and then pretty much only when they were cold. Also, the black one is carrying 15 inch Virgos, with 205s. Votes?
