D24T Diesel 700

Hi All:

I've always been a Diesel Person. I was originally attacted to Volvo by the Diesel version of the 740 Wagon. I almost bought one of these until I read the FAQ horror stories, and other sources, concerning the iffy Oiling System and premature wear to #5 & #6 Cylinders. As a result I settled on a 740 B230FT Turbo Wagon with M46 & OD. I haven't been disappointed and I love it! I am now a Volvo addict.

The Diesel bug keeps poping up it's head occationally. I have another chance to get one. I live in a Metropolitan area, which probably is the worst conditions for this engine. Is there anything that can be done to make this engine more reliable. I've seen Diesel 200's & 700's with over 200K miles, advertised as still running strong. Other than multiple engine changes, what's their success?

Thanks
Warren
