OD problem... 900 1993

On my 94 940 turbo I had the same problem.
It was the overdrive relay behind the ash tray.
On my car it was a white relay with HELLA printed on it.
I removed the relay, opened it up, installed a nylon cable tie to hold the relay closed, put the cover back on the relay and reinstalled it. The problem is gone, but overdrive is permanantly enabled. You could also install a wire jumper to bypass the lockout option.
Since I dont drive in the moutians or pull a trailer I didn't really need the overdrive lockout capabilities.
You can always spend the $40.00 and replace the relay.

The relay contacts were in good condition. I think the problem is on the small circuit board that is build into the relay.
