12V source when AC is on 200

I would like to rig my new fan to come on when the AC is on, or maybe install a small pusher fan right in front of the condenser, the only catch is, how can I get a signal to turn the fan on when the AC is on. I thought about the AC clutch wire, but that would only make it spin when the clutch is engaged, wouldn't it be more efficient for it to be on all the time? Should I just rig a toggle in the dash, that reminds me that it might be good to disable fan when at highway speeds, but I want to keep this car to where other people can operate it seamlessly. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
