Repost steering rack rigid high pressure lines 900 1991

I pulled a corroded & leaking line off my rack. The fittings used are a bit bizarre. The lines are 6mm steel (exactly the same as a brake line). The fitting end uses an external threaded nut (same as a brake line)w/ a flat collar fitted a couple of mm from the tube end & the tube end slight flared. An oring is fitted bwtn the tube end & collar. Weird setup.

I fixed it using 1/4 brake line, my bender, flare tool, the old nuts reamed to fit & a swagelock half ferrule turned backwards. Hell it's no odder than the Volvo setup.

You don't have to get a new rack or give the dealer $60.00 for a piece of brakeline.

I don't mind paying for stuff but $60.00 is obscene.
