A/C Leak 900

For the past three seasons at the begining of the "Cooling" period my A/C needs to be charged. The strange thing is that assuming I have some kind of leak the freon 134 last approx 5-6 months. Last year an A/C guy told me I need an evaporator? A parts dealer said I just need to replace the o-rings. This year another parts guy told me two orings and the accumulator. Does anyone have any experience with this and could provide step-by-step instructions on changing out these parts?

I also am not capable or have no experience in charging the system. How do I handle this? Can I be walked through this process or sshould I change out the parts and get it charged somewhere? Will the accumulator become contaiminated if car is run without freon?

Do I assume I have no freon in the system when I open the lines or do I evacuate somehow?

Or am I just over my head w/out the proper gear?

Kevin
