Great post, good to hear that problem is fixed. I use white lithium grease for the hinges too (got a white car!), but as I (subjectively) feel that it flows less freely than, say, CRC 5-56 and WD-40, here's the procedure I follow: First I spray the grease where I feel it will do good, then I follow up with compressed air to really drive it into tight spots, and finally a last squirt with grease. And wipe off any excess grease. I probably over-do it though.
