Hesitation for few seconds during heavy acceleration 700 1989

Guys,

I am driving 740Turbo - 233K km. So far the car was fine and turbo was pulling well. Few days ago I noticed hesitation for few seconds when I floor the pedal.
If I accelerate gently it doesn't hesitate I can still feel the turbo power.
So I don't think it is something to do with the turbo. I can also read healthy boost on the gauge.
I have changed the spark plugs 5 month ago form Volvo.
I have not changed the spark plug leads - but I think they are fine.

I know that this fault could be anywhere, but could you give me few easy(more obvious) pointers that I can start throubleshooting.
I have the feeling that it is something simple because the car was fine to me so far.

Thanks in advace, Steven
