1988 740 B 230 700

Just (finally) finished the 740 that i picked up from the auction. (100 bucks was fair for an alabama car)

The engine was rebuilt at 101 now at 118

Driveability was poor. Horrendous gas mileage, billowing black smoke, poor accelleration. found out it had the wrong MAF sensor, changed to correct, suddenly no start (no spark) changed hall sensor and the Spark Amplifier module. runs great now!!!

1st issue: Idle is odd....stays at 750 rpms, but when put in drive it rattles and shakes. Before anyone asks, i thoroughly cleaned the throttle body, replaced each and every vacuum hose, and put a new air filter and snorkel in.

Timing is spot on, idle motor works but the idle is nasty when put in drive.

2nd issue: 2nd to 3rd Shift seems lazy. doesnt "wind out" per se, but seems to take a while, as well as not being the same every time. sometimes it'll shift at 2300, and then sometimes 3100
