Viper Alarm Help 900

I was working on Volvo Boy's 944Ti and decided to poke around the mysterious nonfunctioning alarm system. I found and replaced a burned out fuse near the battery and $hit my pants when the alarm went off. Mashed the key fob buttons and turned it off. The big surprise is that it has working door locks. While the alarm was armed I closed the trunk and the alarm sounded again. V.B. was under the car when this happened so like father, like son... I am scratching my head on this one. A mercury switch maybe?

The alarm is a Viper 500HF, probably a 1995 model. It looks like a very neat and well done professional installation. That also means that the old wire bundles were cut, new wires added and re-bundled making it difficult to trace.

This is a two button key fob. I figured how to lock and set the alarm and lock and disarm and unlock, all with button I, but that is it. I'm looking for an owner of one of these that can explain some of the fob functions. A Google search turned up very little. An on-line owners manual, wiring diagram, etc., would be most helpful.
